Weekend in Grand Junction

On Friday Tegan, my mom and I went to Grand Junction to visit my sister and watch her dance show. Stacy was not able to go because he had to work and Jewel's and my step-dad came up on Saturday night.Tegan and JessieThe weather was great while we were there,
so we got to spend a lot of time walking around in downtown Grand Junction.I think hanging out and shopping with the girls was a little much for Mr. T!Jewels getting ready for Jessie's dance show on SaturdayTegan loved playing in the train across the street from our hotel. He seemed to figure out how to run this weekend and in result got his first scrapped knee. I am sure this will be the first of MANY! What a little ham.
"I love playing here".

On Sunday we had breakfast outside on Main Street at a fun 50's restaurant.

Innocent until proven guilty

Tegan loves reading books right now.
He can sit by himself with a pile of books and keep himself occupied for an hour.
He also likes to look in my school bag and see what he can find.
I guess he found something that interested him!!!

Happy Birthday Matthew

Today we went over to Stacy's mom's house to celebrate his nephew Matthew's 8th birthday.Tegan loved riding around outside on his motorized tractor.Tegan and his Aunt Ashlee
Matthew loves Spider man. So he got lots of Spider man stuff for his birthday. One of the presents he got was a Spider man web spinner. It is a gun type thing that spits out silly string type stuff and makes a web. You can also attach a water gun to it and have it spray water.

Matthew wondering how I got ahold of his new toy!!!The web spinner in action.
Tegan and Matthew waiting for b-day cake. If you look at Tegan's finger you can tell that he already decided to start tasting the cake.

Matthew dove right in.
So did Mr. T

Loving the Spring time

The weather has slowly been getting warmer! This is my first year to plant tulips. I was so excited when they started to come up. I have already started to have lots of ideas about what I will plant for next year.My pretty tulips
Tegan loves riding on his big boy bike.
I guess I should say he loves sitting on his big boy bike and having us push him around.
The other day I was trying to do some things in the yard and Mr. T really wanted me to hold him. I decided to put him in his hiking backpack. He loved it and ended up riding around in it for an hour and a half!! I think I got a little work out.

One sick boy

On Saturday Tegan took a 4 1/2 hour nap and when he woke up he was burning up. I took his temperature and it was 104.7. We put him in a cold bath right away and tried to get it to go down. It continued to go up and down over the next couple of hours but never got below 102. We called the on-call doctor and he said we should take him to urgent care. On the way there he seemed really lethargic and seemed to be having trouble breathing. They ended up treating him for Croup!! They gave him a breathing treatment and then he went to sleep for 20 minutes. All of the sudden he woke up and was ready to laugh and play. And after 5 hours we were able to go home.He did not enjoy the cold bath one bit!
When he was not crying he would lean his head on Stacy's hand.

On Sunday he was not all the way better but was ready to play.
Monday he seemed a little more tired and like he did not feel well.

I made him a sick bed on the couch and he got to rest all day.

It was so cute how he just laid there by himself and relaxed.Even though he is no longer contagious we decided to keep him home from daycare for a few days to rest.

We are taking advantage of all the cuddle time while we can.

Lost the bottle but found the pouting face!

We have been pondering taking the bottle away from Tegan, but were not sure how and when to do it. He has been drinking out of Nuby cups for some time now but would not really drink milk out of them. On Monday we decided to just take the bottle away cold turkey. He did fine but still was not drinking very much milk from a sippy cup. Last night I was looking on the Internet at different cups that were good for transitioning and found a few other ones besides the one by Nuby. So today I went to target in search for some different sippy cups. I decided to try two kinds; one by Gerber and one by Playtex. When we got home I tried the Gerber Transition Cup and Tegan loved it and drank his milk from it! He was so funny he carried it around all night even when it was empty.
So we have now made it 3 days with no bottles!!!!
Tegan loves bath time!
But not when he hears the word...no.
This is his new pouting face.
He likes to use it several times throughout the day!

Poor thing!!! We have definitely enter the world of toddler tantruming!
