Happy Four Week Birthday

Today the boys turned 4 weeks old!
They both continue to grow and put on weight!
They are both a little over 5 lbs now.
We are hoping they will be home in the next few weeks. So keep your fingers crossed!

Weekend Visitor

This past weekend my sister and mom came to visit the boys.
Jessie is going to be watching the boys for us when I go back to work so she will be getting to spend lots of time with the boys.

Tegan and I had a subway picnic at the park for dinner on Friday.

Happy Three Week Birthday

The boys are 3 weeks old already.
Some days it feels like time has flown by and other days I feel like time is standing still.
The boys are usually kept seperate but today I managed to get a few pictures of them together.
The boys continue to work on getting their coordination down to suck, swallow and breath.
This really is a BIG process and takes a lot of energy to get down. We keep getting told that eventually the "light" will just go on and they will get it down.

Tegan visits his brothers!

Last weekend was the first time we took Tegan to see the boys since
Brayden got sick. We wanted to make sure Brayden was better before anyone else came to visit. We finally got to take our first family picture of the five of us!

This was the first day both boys hit 4 lbs!

Happy Two Week Birthday

It is hard to believe that the boys are already two weeks old!
The last two weeks has been a little surreal!
Gain now weighs 3 pounds 15.5 ounces.
 Almost 4 pounds!

Brayden weighs 3 pounds 13 ounces.
He continues to be on antibiotics for his bacterial infection but is doing really well.

Brayden's Scary Night

On Sunday when I visited with the boys something really seemed different with Brayden. He was very lethargic and slept the entire time I was there. We went back to visit that evening and I still had a bad feeling. He ended up having a bad evening and destated throughout the night. Poor think had to be poked and protted all night. They ended up finding out that he has a bacterial infection and is now being treated with antibiotics.
He only had to spend one night on the trauma bed and is now back in his isolette.
Precious Brayden resting after his VERY long night.
Luckily Brayden is already doing better.
He will need to be on antibiotics for the next week or so but already looks much better.
Just a little bump in the road that felt awhole lot bigger!
Gavin cuddled up snoozing away.

Fun Times with Tegan

Tegan has been on his best behavior for the past couple weeks. He has done a great job adjusting and sharing Stacy and I with the boys. I started to notice that he really needed to get some energy out so on Monday we went to the sprinkler park.He did not stop running the entire time we were there and definitely got some energy out!

He asks every day when his brothers will be home and is
looking forward to having them here!

Our Super Hero

Tegan has been completely fascinated with super heroes.
He spends most of his time dressed up and pretending to be batman, superman or Mr. Incredible!  His super hero outfit involves his hulk gloves and knight hat!
I am not sure what I am going to do in a few years when all four of the boys have taken over the house and playing pretend super heroes.

Happy One Week Birthday

Today was Gavin and Brayden's one week birthday.
I am still in shock and amazed they are here and doing so well.
Tegan is finally getting over his cold and is super excited to go see his brothers again over the weekend.
I feel truly blessed that they are so healthy. They continue to progress and hopefully they will be home with us before we know it!
We also got the test results back today and found out that they are Identical Twins!

This was the first time they had been back together since they were born.

They were very content being back together.

Gavin and Brayden's B-Day Story 8/27/09

Last Monday night I was up all night with really bad back pains. On Tuesday morning (the 25th) I started spotting so the doctor told me to go get checked out in the emergency room. When we got there the doctor checked me and found out that I was 2 1/2 cm. dilated. They made the decision to keep me for 48 hours and try and stop me from progressing any further. They also explained that once I was released they would want me to stop working until I had the babies.
So I spent the next few days in the hospital and it seemed everything was looking good to be released on Thursday afternoon. I woke up Thursday morning (27th) at 4 am to use the bathroom and realized that I was soaked but I had not used the bathroom. I let the nurse know and she ran a test and discovered that I had a leak in one of the sacs. So they checked me again and found out I was 3 1/2 cm. dilated. The nurse said I would not be leaving the hospital until I had the babies which could be anywhere from a week to several weeks.
Then the doctor came in to tell me she was just going to let nature take it's course and see what would happen. They thought the babies would come anytime over the next 24 to 48 hours....I knew they were coming that night.
31 weeks and 4 days
