Mr. T the Hulk!

When we made our trip to Toys R Us last week Tegan got a pair of talking Hulk gloves. Actually Stacy picked them out and Tegan did not like them at first! Now he has decided he likes them !

Watch out for the Hulk!

Time Out AKA I'm Out

In our house time out is on the stairs. (Not that we ever have to use it) The other day Stacy put Tegan's pj bottoms on his Teddy Bear. Well Tegan did not like that very much and decided that Teddy needed to go to "I'm out!" (As Tegan calls it!) So Tegan picked up his Teddy and said, "I'm Out, I'm Out Teddy!"

Happy Birthday Jeff

On May 18th we celebrated Jeff's birthday. Tegan loves to blow out candles....you would wonder who's birthday cake it was by this picture!

A Scary Night....

Yesterday, (Friday) Stacy got a call at 3:00 from Tegan's daycare that Tegan was running a 102 temperature. So Stacy went picked him up and made him a sick bed on the couch. I got home at 4:00 and Tegan was still laying on the couch. We watched cartoons and kept checking his temp. It was consistently between 101 and 102. He fell in and out of sleep until 6:45. At 6:45 we decide to go get his pj's on and get him ready for bed. Stacy read him three books while I got the Tylenol and sat his humidifier up. I kissed Tegan and started to head downstairs to clean up from dinner. I barely made it down the stairs and I heard Stacy yelling, "Mama, Mama". I ran upstairs and Tegan was in Stacy's arm having a seizure. Surprisingly, Stacy or I did not panic and I just ran and got the phone and called 911. They were giving me directions of what we needed to do while we waited for the ambulance. I just remember looking down at Tegan and seeing that he was foaming from the mouth, seizing and his eyes were rolled in the back of his head. Pretty scary. It seemed like it took 20 minutes for the paramedics to arrive but actually they were here in about 3 minutes. Tegan seized for about 2 minutes. After he was done he would not open his eyes and was just moaning. Tegan and I were transported to the ER and they gave him oxygen and an IV on the way. The whole way to the ER he moaned with his eyes closed. Even after we got to the hospital it took almost 2 hours before he would make eye contact or respond to our voice. (Which they said was very normal.) When he would open his eyes he would just stare at the ceiling.

After 2 IV;'s, blood work, urine tests and x-rays it was determined that Tegan had a Febrile Seizure. Additional note: we waited 2 hours for Tegan to go potty in a little bag ...in attempt to bypass the alternative way to get his urine. They gave him 250 CC's of fluids through his IV, Stacy was putting his hands in water and then finally he went potty in the bag and all over mommy! I guess 4% of kids can get Febrile seizures at any time. They are caused by someone's temp. getting too high too quickly. Even though we did not know it Tegan's temp jumped from 101 to 103 in less than 5 minutes. We had checked his temp. 5 minutes before the seizure happened. Apparently there is no way of preventing these seizures or knowing if he will ever have one again. They said he has the same chance of having a 2nd one as any one else has of having a 1st seizure! So basically we just have to treat his temps. like we always have and just hope it doesn't happen.

Tegan was very happy to leave the hospital. He was clapping his hands saying YEAH! and telling everyone bye bye. They still do not have any idea if he has a cold or anything. All of the tests showed he is healthy and doesn't even have a cold. They also said he could be teething and got a fever from that...who knows.

Who went to the hospital last night????

We got home around 2 this morning. Tegan woke up at 730 and you would never know that anything happened. He's back to running around dancing and making a mess. With no temperature! Last night was really scary! I have seen many people seize at work but it is a little different when it is your own child! I am just thankful he is ok!

He finally started to slow down around noon today and made himself a little bed underneath the coffee table. He took a 3 hour nap. Porr baby I think he needed it!

I have to admit Tegan got a little spoiled today. While he was napping Stacy and I built him a fort with his tent and the pool table. Then when he woke up we went to Toys R Us for him to pick out a new toy! He chose a nerf foam dart gun...typical boy. After that we asked him what he wanted for dinner and he said PIZZA! I have trained him well. To top it off we had to get some ice cream for after dinner!

Daddy and Tegan playing in the fort.

So yes we spoiled him a bit today...but I think after all his little body went through he deserved it!

Who Knows?????

We are not sure why but for some reason Tegan likes to put stuff down the back of his shirt. His teachers at daycare told us that he does the same thing there.

Finally, I got some pictures of him in the process of filling the back of his onies with all of the food from his kitchen.

Like I said...who knows but at least it makes diaper changing time interesting!

Before I was a Mommy......

Before I was a Mommy:
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.

Before I was a Mommy:
I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mommy:
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mommy:
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mommy:
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mommy:
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

Thank you God for the ultimate blessing.... Being a Mommy!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the awesome mom's in the world!

Mother's Day Tea

Today Tegan's school had a Mother's Day Tea. I looked forward to going all day. At first Tegan thought it was a little weird that I was hanging out with him at school. As soon as the other mom's showed up he thought it was pretty neat.

All of Tegan's Friends.

Cookie Time.

Time for a pose.

One of Tegan's favorite little friends!

Fun Times Outside....

Last Sunday we spent the day doing yard work. Tegan was a big help. He had fun enjoying his lunch at his picnic table Grandpa Jeff made him for Christmas.
